Jack is the AP Environmental Science and AP Biology teacher at Bryan High School in Bryan, TX. He is currently in his 8th year teaching and was named Secondary Teacher of the Year for Bryan ISD during the 24-25 school year. He established the Viking Prairie Project in May 2023 to restore a section of campus to prairie grasses and forbs to be used as an outdoor classroom for all of his classes.
His project focuses on transforming Unit 2 - Biodiversity for AP Environmental Science into one with a native grassland focus. Each topic will cover aspects of prairies with a major lab tracking biodiversity long-term in the Viking Prairie Project as it is restored.
